 1979 Honda Civic

"On the Street . . "
"On the track!"

I know you think I'm Crazy for playing with this old Honda, but with some work and TLC, these 1st Gen's can ROCK! Above is what it used to look like when I cared more about shattering out the windows with the stereo than about racing. Now all that is gone due to too many break-ins, and I race it now. Pictures to come with it's new look. Here are some of the current MODS: Weber Downdraft Carb, Crane and Jacobs Electronics Ignition Systems, Splitfire Spark Plugs, Japanese Exhaust Header with 2 inch all the way back, tiny Dynamax muffler, Jackson Racing Lightened Flywheel, LSD, Suspension Techniques Springs, Addco Rear Sway Bar, 13x6 Panasport Street and Race Wheels, 225/45/13 Hoosier Autocrosser Race tires, I love turning hairpins at 45 mph. This car handles awesome, it really shines in the slalom! Stay tuned for a major motor upgrade and new paint! Visit my Civic 1200 Homepage!, Visit my Racing Team Page!

"On the Street . . "
"On the track!"

This is my daily driver, just turned 110K. Not many mods, but it is fast for a 4 banger with the turbo. I have a 2.5 inch Cat-Back Monza exhaust and highly polished wheels off an '88 and Sumitomo 195/50/15 tires. Slammed it with Suspension Techniques Springs, at least a 2.5 inch drop without cutting. Also, front and rear Addco Swaybars. Got new factory electronic adjustable KYB struts recently - expensive, but well worth the money (no other adjustables available)! K&N air filter, Metal Master brake pads on Cross-Drilled rotors. It handles great for a street car, but nothing like the Civic! I'd like to do a turbo system upgrade.  Installed a Grainger valve to adjust boost, works perfect.  It will soon have a Phantom Grip LSD and ACT XTreme 6 puck clutch and hopefully about 18 psi boost!
